JOB DESCRIPTION
Data Engineer at Autodesk Inc analysing Customer behaviour data to determine a pattern in their activity and to recommend them new products or services that can suit their needs.
It might sound like a simple recommendation system but actually not. We just don't look at customer data and recommend products. Here we did the hard work of rolling up every customer to their affiliation and group them a level up. Now based on their cumulative browsing patterns, we recommend products to their affiliations.
Most of this work was research oriented and in understanding how Autodesk works and how Autodesk looks at their customers. Autodesk being an old company, many of its data were in paper and so mapping and grouping was a tedious process with disoriented data in the data lake.
