RESEARCH WORK

Proliferation in the volume of devices connected over the internet has intrigued the research community to extract information about the connected devices, their types, behaviors, and patterns of their usage. It is to be noted that the payload is still unaltered in all these analyses. Mere traffic statistics have been proven to be sufficient to expose the usage patterns and other significantly vital information about the usage of these devices. We have analyzed in detail the vulnerabilities associated with IP cameras and have proposed two defense techniques for the same. We propose a traffic shaping methodology and a scheduler algorithm that could be included in the kernel of the IP camera. The above is achieved with the use of Multipart TCP. The same is expected to be submitted to the “World Forum on Internet of Things, 2020, Louisiana, USA”.

Paper is under the process of Publication.
